SHAWN SCHUMAKER

OWNER | INSTRUCTOR | TRAINER | COACH
Shawn holds a nationally recognized personal training certification, is a CrossFit Level 1 Instructor, and has a background in psychology and nutrition. He graduated from Youngstown State University and his specialties are functional training, iron sports training and competition coaching as well as overall strength gain. He is a master of fitness program design and a very powerful motivator. Shawn believes that fitness should be enjoyable yet effective and, "if you are not seeing results, you are wasting your time, energy, and money."


BRANDY SCHUMAKER

Brandy has extensive experience in fitness and wellness, and she has worked in the field professionally for over 12 years. She is a professional natural bodybuilder, is a CrossFit Level 1 Instructor, a CrossFit Strongman Instructor, and has a degree from Youngstown State in Exercise Science, where she also teaches a variety of activity courses including Weight and Resistance Training. She has completed masters level courses in Public Health and Business in order to fulfill her desire for continued learning. Brandy believes that "strength training is one of the only activities in life where the ability to push yourself to failure is the ultimate success."


JUDY DEJOSEPH

Judy is a CrossFit Level 1 Instructor, and has always been very active and interested in fitness. Her interest peaked after being introduced to CrossFit. Judy is very excited to pass along her love of CrossFit, and she loves watching people push themselves and work harder than they ever thought they could! Having three young boys,she is particularly concerned with the growing rate of childhood obesity. Setting a good example for her children is a priority! Judy believes that exposing them early and showing them how much fun they can have exercising is key!

I’m Morgan! 

I am a registered dental hygienist, I like to do Strongman and CrossFit. If I’m not at the gym my husband, Ryan, and I may be traveling or doing some sort of outdoor activity. 

I’ve been with Team BSS since 2016. How it started? My best friend, Trang, convinced me that I just HAD to come try the gym over our spring break during college. Since that week, I never looked back. In high school I ran track, and I played intramural soccer in college. I really missed being a part of a team, and when I joined BSS I got my team back. Years later and I have created some of my greatest friendships here, whom are now more like family. The gym has helped me build confidence in myself and has taught me that I am capable of more things than I ever imagined.
